Show Me Bears Community Service Scholarship

Congrats to both of our recipients! Their dedication towards our community is definitely commendable. They both received $1000 (each) towards their education.
Applications for the 2018 Show-Me Bears Community Service Scholarship will start being accepted in March of 2018.
Purpose: The Show Me Bears Community Service Scholarship is meant to reward and financially assist adult students that are furthering their education by returning to school and have an interest in serving in the LGBTQA+ community.
Criteria: Students eligible for this award must be: (1) 21 years of age or older, (2) a resident of Missouri or Illinois or plan on attending a higher education institution (including degree and certification programs) in Missouri or Illinois. Consideration will be given to those self-identifying as LGBTQA+ or close relatives thereof. Show Me Bears members are eligible, except for those on the Board of Directors or Scholarship Committee. Students should submit their application electronically.
Guidelines: Scholarship(s) will be awarded at the beginning of the learning institution’s scholastic term with payment made directly to their financial aid office.
Amount: Each scholarship awarded is at an amount determined by the Scholarship Committee at a minimum of $1000.
Deadline: The application deadline is August 7, 2017. The deadline is the date after which no applications will be accepted.
Renewal: This scholarship is awarded as a one-time amount, non-renewable. However, recipients may re-apply any following year.
