Hey all, if you're looking for a little Italian opera in your life, come check out Winter Opera St. Louis' production of Puccini's "La Bohème"--the opera which inspired RENT. This piece is one of the TOP THREE that I would recommend to all the opera virgins out there!

Join the Show-Me Bears for a Mardi Gras celebration!
We'll be opening the bar early this Saturday at 9am and serving drinks at happy hour prices ALL DAY. Enjoy a Bloody Mary, a Hurricane, or whatever beverage whets your palette. The Show-Me Bears will be selling shots and raffle tickets and we'll definitely be throwing beads that night so don't miss out on all the fun!
$3 get's you on the shuttle running back and forth to the festivities in Soulard from 10am-6pm. Park at JJ's and enjoy a few drinks before you're shuttled into the Mardi Gras madness.

Just wanted to let all those that knew him Tim "Grandma" Craddock passed away. Apparently last night. Not sure of any of the details. He owned Grandmas bar on Manchester and hosted some of our parties in the past.

I just found out today... for those "older" members who knew him... John Hoelker passed away last November due to complications from leukemia. John was our treasurer back in 1993, the first two years when Rich Mergen and I got the club started. He and his partner Mel were active members till John got transferred to Atlanta by his job in 1997. They both came back frequently to visit family, hang out at the bar and attend HiBearNation.
